Lilo & Stitch - Disney's Animated Movie

In the first film, Lilo adopts Stitch as her pet after he crash-lands on the island, leading to hilarious and chaotic adventures. Writer and director Chris Sanders had the initial idea for a character like Stitch nearly 17 years prior to the film's release, and eventually proposed a character-driven story involving his creation in 1997. Initially, Stitch was set to interact with animals in rural Kansas, but animation president Thomas Schumacher suggested having Stitch interact with people instead. A timely vacation to Hawaii gave Sanders the inspiration to relocate the story from the barnyard to the beach.
